Wedding dance lessons at House of Dance LABDS are private from the very first session. Every routine is choreographed to your song and built around the dance floor you will actually be on. We teach the lift, the turn and the close. We make absolutely sure you both look like you have been dancing together for years.

  • Most couples need 6–12 sessions for a confident, natural first dance

Most dance studios in Pretoria teach the competitive syllabus. Techniques designed for performance in front of judges, not for dancing confidently at a real social event. We are different. We draw from the Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire tradition of social dance instruction. Every session is private, one-on-one and designed entirely around you.

Arthur Murray Tradition

The two greatest social dance studios South Africa ever had were Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire. Both are gone. The tradition they built is not.

Gideon’s first dance lesson was at age 11. He didn’t dance again for over a decade. Then in 1996 he walked into a studio in Newcastle and the owner pulled him aside: “You should be teaching, not taking lessons.”

By late 1997 he was an instructor at DanceWell in Sunnyside, Pretoria. Over the following three decades he taught more than 1,000 people. Ages 9 to 76, including blind and deaf students, all trained in the Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire tradition of social ballroom and Latin dancing.

Today, Gideon teaches every couples lesson personally. There is no junior instructor handling the warm-up. There is no rotation between teachers. It is him, every session, for the full hour.

Couples Dance Lessons in Centurion, Pretoria East, Midrand & Beyond

House of Dance LABDS is based at Eco Boulevard Shopping Centre in Centurion, Gauteng. Couples travel to the studio from across the Pretoria South and Midrand corridor for private dance lessons. Many come from Pretoria East, Irene, Midrand, Montana, Sunnyside, Queenswood and Wonderboom.

Lessons are strictly by appointment and are held at the Centurion studio. There are no home visits. Students have been known to drive from Montana through the toll gates for the quality of instruction.
