Become a Qualified Dance Instructor in 10 Weeks.
No Franchise.

The fast-track dance teacher qualification. Bronze-level certification, full social dance syllabus, daytime delivery in Centurion. Open your own studio. Your students, your income, your community.

Is This For You?

You already know you can teach dancing.
You just need the qualification and a plan.

You Want a Real Career. Not a Hobby.

You love dancing. You want to turn it into income. Every other path takes years, costs a fortune or ties you to someone else’s brand. You need a fast, proper qualification and a way to start earning.

You Don’t Have 1–3 Years to Wait

Competitive programmes train you to teach competitions. They take 1 to 3 years. You don’t want to compete. You want to teach social dancing in your own community, this year, not in 2029.

You Refuse to Sign a Franchise

Other studios tell you to teach their students for years before you “earn the right” to open your own door. You want a qualification you keep. Your studio, your students, your pricing, your community.

You Want the Business Side Too

Teaching well is one skill. Filling a calendar, pricing lessons, marketing the studio, that is a different skill entirely. You want both. You don’t want to figure out the second one alone.

The Two Paths to Becoming a Dance Teacher

Why 10 Weeks Is Enough When the Programme Is Built Right

There is a reason most South African dance teacher programmes take years. There is also a reason ours doesn’t. Here is the honest difference.

Traditional / Franchise Pathway

House of Dance LABDS

Time to qualify

1 to 3 years of unpaid floor work

Curriculum focus

Competitive syllabus designed for judged exams

Franchise commitments

Years of revenue sharing or territory contracts

Group size

Large groups, lecture-style

When you can start earning

After you “qualify”, often years later

Business side included

No, you figure it out alone

Examination

In-house, by your trainer

From Your First Lesson to Your Own Studio

Five clear stages. No surprises. No hidden steps. This is the same pathway every House of Dance LABDS instructor follows.

01

Apply & Interview

Complete a short pre-qualification form covering your dance background, rhythm confidence and motivation. Then book your free 30-minute selection interview. Gideon personally reviews every application.

02

Enrol in Bronze

If accepted, you enrol in the 10-week Bronze programme, held weekday mornings in Centurion so you can keep working or studying in the evenings. Maximum 8 students per group.

03

Train & Qualify

Learn to teach the full social syllabus. Not just to perform it. The final examination is conducted by an external adjudicator. You graduate with a House of Dance LABDS Bronze qualification.

04

Floor Experience

Standout graduates assist Gideon with real couple lessons during a 3-month mentored teaching phase. You manage real students, with Gideon beside you throughout.

05

Open Your Studio

You have the skills, the qualification, the floor hours. Now you need the business system: marketing, sales, calendar, pricing. We coach you through every piece, in your own community.

Bronze, Silver & Gold: A Real Career Ladder

Bronze qualifies you to teach. Silver and Gold deepen your craft and expand your earning potential. Each level is taken in sequence.

What You Will Learn to Teach

Every dance below is in the Bronze syllabus. You learn to teach each one: break it down, transfer it to a complete beginner, correct it under pressure. Silver and Gold extend the syllabus further.

Latin

  • Mambo
  • Salsa
  • Samba
  • Rumba
  • Cha-Cha

Ballroom

  • Slow Foxtrot
  • Tango
  • Slow Waltz
  • Viennese Waltz

Rock & Roll

  • Swing
  • Jive
  • Boogie

South African Social

  • Sokkie
  • Two-Step
  • Line Dancing

You learn how to teach, not just how to perform. That distinction is the entire reason this programme works in 10 weeks.

From Qualified to Studio Owner

We Don’t Just Qualify You.
We Help You Build the Business.

Most dance qualifications hand you a certificate and wave goodbye. That is the moment most graduates discover they were trained to dance. They were never trained to run a studio.

House of Dance LABDS is built differently. Once you qualify, the support continues. Marketing systems, sales scripts, calendar management, pricing structure, GoHighLevel automations, an instructor community and an annual showcase event, all built specifically for South African social dance studios.

  • Ongoing marketing & sales coaching — practical, applied to your real studio in real time
  • Instructor community — private platform for House of Dance LABDS-trained graduates
  • Annual showcase event — connect students from every trained studio across Gauteng
  • Affiliate & software income streams — additional revenue beyond hourly lesson fees
  • Studio launch playbook — exactly how to start in your own community, garage or rented space

“You are not just becoming an instructor. You are building a business. We give you the dance qualification, the floor experience and the business system. The rest is up to you.”

Gideon Stander, founder and head instructor at House of Dance LABDS in Centurion

Your Trainer

Trained by Gideon. 30 Years on the Floor.

Gideon’s first dance lesson was at age 11. By 1996, in Newcastle, the studio owner pulled him aside: You should be teaching, not taking lessons.” By late 1997 he was teaching at DanceWell in Sunnyside, Pretoria.

Over the next three decades he taught more than 1,000 students, ages 9 to 76, including blind and deaf couples in the Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire tradition of social dancing. That tradition is no longer formally available anywhere else in South Africa. House of Dance LABDS is now training the next generation of instructors to bring it back, one community at a time.
